Psalms 84:5
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Whose strength is in God – whose security, boldness, and might are in the Lord
We are to be strong in the spirit. This is done through prayer, the Word of God, worship, and fellowship with other Believers.
Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Our soul is our mind, will, and emotions. When we pray God strengthens our soul so that we can stand firm in Him. The biggest battle happens in this area so it is important to stay strong in them.
Psalms 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
Being strong in the Lord will cause a song of praise to rise from the inside of us. Praise helps us to remember the might of God and therefore trust Him more. Our victory comes from praise.
Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
In whose hearts are the ways – in whose mind and understanding are the paths that lead to Him
God promises to fill us with His Word and to carve it in our hearts like a stone. The more that we are filled then the more likely that we will walk in His ways.
Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
We go to the house of God to be taught His ways that come from His heart. The Father wants us to know His ways. Blessings which cannot be taken away come from getting to know Him.
Micah 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
When we reverence the Lord He will teach us how to walk in the paths of His will.
Psalms 25:12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
God’s way leads to holiness and righteousness which are characteristics that make us more like Him. This way leads us to eternal life. Only a few people are willing to choose this path, but God gives grace to His children who yield to Him.
Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
The undefiled are those who separate themselves from the world and choose to live according to the Word of God.
Psalms 119:1 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
