Psalms 65:4

Psalms 65:4

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Who is chosen – who is tried or selected by the Lord

The following verse is a confirmation of the blessing of being selected and set apart by the Lord. As a result, we receive the inheritance of being in His house.  We receive His presence from this place.

Psalms 33:12  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

We have been chosen by God since before the world began to be holy so that we can live for Him.

Ephesians 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

We have been chosen to be people of intercession and prayer as priests, holy, and to be different from this world.  We are called to be set apart so that we can shine as lights where there is darkness in the world.  Our lights shine through our praises.

1 Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Cause to approach Him – to draw near that we may reside continually in His courts — a place that is fenced in

God wants us to draw near to Him.

Psalms 73:28  But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

We must purify ourselves from the world to be close to God.  As we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.

James 4:8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
