Jeremiah 17:7  

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

 

Trust in the Lord – be confident/secure/sure in the Lord

 

Trust is being secure in God even in the difficult times when everything seems to be going wrong.  These are times when we cannot lean on our own understanding.  Being thankful and worship are important parts of trusting God.

 

Psalms 2:12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

 

As we give all of our situations to the Lord and lean on Him then He will bring a solution and fix each one.  We must also realize that His answers may be different than what we expect, but they are always better.

 

Psalms 37:5  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

 

Consistent joy and happiness on the inside come from trusting the Lord.

 

Proverbs 16:20  He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he

 

We are to trust in God with everything in us knowing that He is perfect in all He does. He will not fail us.

 

Proverbs 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

 

We can fully lean on God and not be afraid.  As we trust Him we will find strength and deliverance from the enemy.  Our hearts and mouths will overflow with the praises of God.

 

Isaiah 12:2  Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

 

Hope in the Lord – take refuge and have full assurance in the Lord

 

We can be fully assured that the Lord will come through on our behalf.  Our hope in Him grows as we experience Hid faithfulness on a repeated basis in our lives.

 

Psalms 71:5  For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

 

The Lord helps us as we take refuge in Him.  This means we run to Him in reliance knowing that He will supply everything we need.

 

Psalms 146:5  Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

 

As we honor God and hold Him in high regard, we will be able to have unmovable confidence in Him.  He provides a place of safety in His presence for His children.

 

Proverbs 14:26  In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

 

God will not disappoint us when we put our hope in Him because He loves us.  Understanding the Father’s love toward His children will help us to put our hope in Him.

 

Romans 5:5  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

 

When we put our hope in God then we are filled with peace and joy in abundance.  This is accomplished through the Holy Spirit.

 

Romans 15:13  Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
