Romans 9:23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. {ordained: or, prepared}
The words “afore prepared” and “ordained” mean to “fit up in advance” in the Greek. It is like having a taylored made garment just for you. It fits your exact measurements. It has your favorite colors.
God has made things of this life just for us that we should walk in and possess them. He had them in place before we were born. God told Jeremiah that he was called as a prophet to the nations before he was in his mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5). David acknowledged that his days were written by God before there were any days (Psalms 139:16). Paul said that he was separated and called by God from his mother’s womb (Galatians 1:15).
The above veres tells us a few things that God has put in place for us. Romans 9:23 says that God wants to make known the riches of his glory. Riches imply wealth, money, possessions and abundance. All these were God’s desire for us to have since the beginning of time. He put them in place for us for His praise and glory. Jesus said that men should glorify God when they see our good works (Matthew 5:16).
God also prepared good works for us to walk in. This means He planned good deeds for us to perform in our life. There are people that we are to help. Our lives have been fashioned to reach a specific group or groups of people. Everything that we have been through was for the purpose of preparing us for this work. The work could be spiritual help such as counseling, praying or teaching the word of God. Works could also be natural such as feeding the poor, building schools and orphanages, starting a business or inventing something that will change society.
All of the above spells greatness. God has done His part. We must stand up and do our part and walk out whatever He taylored made for us to do.
